I tried one, but couldn't read what was playing, or find anything while I was driving. Half the time it just played whatever it wanted to. There was a problem picking up regional stations when driving up and down the country, so retuning while driving became a required skill.
In the end I went back to cd's.
The transmitter was ok, it was a cheapy chinese one off ebay, about £7, and had a programable transmitter, avoid ones pre set to 3 or 5 frequencies.0 -
they dont work well in all cars as it depends where the car aerial is
ive used these plus ciggie lighter type with built in mp3 player and also a ciggie lighter plug in type where you load it with an sd card
they all work but the best one is the built in flash drive type in my opinion
all ebay purchases from china but usually worth the wait for the huge savings made
good thing is you dont need to worry if you leave it plugged in in view of small time crooks because its not worth stealing0 -
Maybe a lead to connect to the cars aux inputs instead. More control you can actually skip tracks and sometimes
it shows on the display.
Depends what stereo you have and the inputs available. You can get leads that convert the cd autochanger into aux inputs
that cann control mp3 players.Censorship Reigns Supreme in Troll City...0 -
The FM transmitters are dependant on - a - the transmitter output - b- the position of the car aerial and the cheaper ones can be very ineffective
If you have an autochanger, some folk make units that merely plug into the autochanger socket at the back of the head unit and convince the head unit there's still an autochanger connected.
Also, you can get FM modulators which are hard-wired into the aerial lead - I got one off eBay - these work in the same way as the transmitters, but without the interference and transmitter output issues.0 -

I nearly ordered one these but then remembered MSE! this seems the most simple way of doing things, provided it works.0
