My kids both got SE v600i phones for Christmas. I am trying to download some music to their phones. This is how far I've got:
I've installed the drivers etc. from the supplied disc. I've connected using the supplied USB cable. I've selected some music already ripped from a CD. Now what? Does it need a particular file type? How do I get the PC to recognise the phone? Should I just get them MP3 players instead? Is it worth all this flippin grief??!!
I'm using Windows media player and running Windows XP.
Thank you ssssooooo much in anticipation of your assistance

If your using the "disc2phone" software which i got with my phone then you open the program, then in the left column find where the music tracks are... highlight them by clicking them once and click "Add" with the arrow at the top... then they appear in the middle column... then when you have completed the list click "transfer" and wait for them all to be completed, a progress bar appears with each song...
hope this helps!

i use the SE file manager supplied on the disk with the phone. i tend to have the music at 128Kbps and in mp3. then just drag and drop (or copy and paste) the files into the Sounds folder on the phone using the SE file manager0

Thank you for all your responses.
I do not have "disc2phone" software. I have installed the drivers off the disc and am running SE file manager. Is "disc2phone" easier to use? Can I download it from somewhere?
When I rip music from discs, the file type defaults to .wma. I somehow managed to transfer this to the phone last night but it won't play. Is it beacsue it's .wma? Should it be .mp3? How do I save it as .mp3 in windows media player?

i have got a different phone to those mentioned but mine has a seperate memory card and I did it the cheats way by putting the card into my pcs reader then transferring sounds/photos as if it was another drive.0

Your phone wont be able to handle WMA files, you need to convert the songs to MP3, then transfer them to your phone using the SE filemanager, ensure you put the Mp3's into the relevant folder.MATH wrote:Thank you for all your responses.

Open windows media player, click on "Tools", "Options", "Rip Music", and change the format of the rip settings to mp3.
There are many free programs (do a Google) that can convert your already ripped .wma files to .mp3 (I personally use i-tunes.)
