Does anyone else have difficulty shifting anything on Gumtree?
Over the past 6 weeks I've posted 6 ads for the same item, when it comes to the end of a week I cancel and relist, I've had 200+ views, 4 emails from scammers, 3 genuine people who ask "Have you still got it" and then you never hear from them again.
Is Gumtree a lost cause?

I have used gumtree a few times and allways sold the items although you need to filter out the scammers, could be that you are looking for to high a price.0

I thought that so lowered the price down to £300 for a phone that costs £499 in shops, and I see others sell at £390 etc but still no one interested apart from the

Plenty of views just no one buying. I've also noticed the views going down with each listing. The first had 72 in a week, last weeks 27This is a system account and does not represent a real person. To contact the Forum Team email forumteam@moneysavingexpert.com0 -
I tend to list about 4-6 things a month on Gumtree and I think I've sold two items in the past year. Usually like the oP th eonly emails I get are scammers.
However I am selling mainly art and large or delicate collectables that are unsuitable for posting- so not really a candidiate for ebay.I’m a Forum Ambassador and I support the Forum Team on the eBay, Auctions, Car Boot & Jumble Sales, Boost Your Income, Praise, Vents & Warnings, Overseas Holidays & Travel Planning , UK Holidays, Days Out & Entertainments boards. My partner sold a bike on gumtree last week. He put it on every day for a week than rested it for 2 days. Got an email from one guy who took it the following day (worth £500). Yest he found a bike he liked, asked the guy if he still had it and bought it this afternoon. Sigh....0

If they are selling at 390 a pop, then even after ebay/paypal fees you'd still be much better off selling through ebay than your 300 asking price on gumtree0
