Dla tribunal help

I have my dla tribunal next week. FRU cannot get anyone to represent me and I am terrified. It is in Sutton on thursday so if anyone can help please do.

I am in constant pain with sjogren's and fibromyalgia, tmj, raynaulds. I cannot write with a pen as it is too painful. I have to try and put eyedrops in but am now finding difficulty- my 6.5yr old helps me- she also helps me out of bed every morning. She puts my drops in first, moves my legs out and then puts my hand near the lever. I hold it and she pushes me up. During the night I cannot move as my body lock and feel so frightened. I do get direct payments and social services believe I am entitled, as does my gp...
I have someone who takes my daughter to school as I struggle. I cannot walk without pain and my eyes get blurred- I am on morphine patches but the max.

Any help is appreciated at this terrifying time.

I don't have any help other than to say that it seems ridiculous that you need to go to tribunal as you seem the type of person who definitely should get DLA.

Of course I wish you well re tribunal but have you applied for young carers groups for your daughter. They are run locally via local councils for support and fun for our invaluable young carers. It may be a nice thing for her and eligibility is not based on diagnosis DLA or anything.

Not really - fibromyalgia, is on the list of conditions that are NOT able to be proven as being a condition!

There is nothing wrong at all about the DWP being ultra careful if ensuring that the benefit only goes to those that deserve it.

I am sure you would be the first to complain if you found someone that claims benefits and is not 100% genuine.
There are so many claims being made in respect of that condition, that the DWP know it is a well used unprovable illness.

Besides which there are many, myself included that have conditions that are not only life threatening, but very disabling as well.
Having aneurysms in the stomach that bleed regulary, having Peripheral Arterial Disease to both legs making walking impossible etc etc which create care needs as well as mobility problems
are still refused by the DWP as well as the Tribunal.

You have to show concrete evidence that you have those needs.

The actual illness is almost immaterial in a claim for DLA. However that said she mentioned several conditions and how they affected her and the help from her daughter.

I am well aware that evidence of needs has to be shown.

My daughter is a young carer and they believe she has ADD which my gp is now going to action.

Not being at all funny, but for the life of me how can a juvenile with ADD be a 'full time' carer to someone.
It wouldn't surprise me that once ADD is confirmed that the 'disabled' parent will claim DLA for the young child!

This sounds like a fantastic little girl who helps her mother with things that a little girl should not ever need to do in an ideal world. It doesn't mean that she can't have her own problems with concentration. Nowhere does it say that she is a FT carer for her mother.

OP I would be very proud if my own 6 year old was as caring as your little girl is. I'm sorry that I don't know who can help you at your tribunal - have you tried CAB.

As a blind person I object to this comment.

ADD is different to ADHD. She is being checked incase it is behaviorial. I take her to classes/ clubs and cannot leave incase she has 'a moment'.
    Thank you Chivers.
