Another thread for advice on what feedback to give

I was going to ask on the other thread, but didn't want to go off topic.

I bought some boots 2 weeks ago & paid instantly.

Seller noted expected dispatch within 5 days on the listing.

After a week had passed with no updates, I contacted the seller with a friendly message asking about the status.

No reply, so after a few more days I sent another message and again had no response.

Finally got the boots today.
I think the length of time it took the seller to send the item & the lack of communication wasn't really what I would expect.
The item was, however, as described, and postage was reasonable.

I'm therefore considering neutral feedback, 2 stars for dispatch, 1 for communication (or can I give 0?)

Does this seem fair or am I being too harsh?

If you are pleased then I don't see how you can neg. Neutral may be too harsh, only you really know. DSR are there to reflect the 4 categories. You can mark down in one but still be 'otherwise delighted'. So it really depends on what you 'are'. If you need to leave more than one low DSR then IMHO it should be a neutral.

Yeah, I wouldn't neg them. I'm happy with the item, just not the service. I've wanted to wear the boots on several occassions while waiting for them.

So ask yourself if you are happy with 2 of the 4 DSR or not. If not, then it may be a neutral. If yes, then perhaps just the lows. They do the most harm but the seller doesn't know.

Have you had any response via an email? I only ask as ebay messages are as reliable as ...... well......ebay!

No, I sent both messages through ebay - didn't think to email.

The sellers current stars are 4.5 for communication & 4 for dispatch (out of 21 ratings).
Someone else who won an item at the same time as me left feedback yesterday, but didn't mention coms / dispatch time.
A couple of previous buyers have complained about dispatch time & no reply to emails, one left neutral.

I'd leave a neutral and mention the slow despatch and nonexistent communication. Not sending them for nearly two weeks is a p-take. I'd also give them zero stars for those two things as well.

They would lose stars from me for no comms and lying about despatch times in listing. Therefore 1 star for despatch, say 3 for comms and possibly a neutral if I felt strongly enough

You're more generous than me, Soolin!

Neutral feedback mentioning lack of comms and slow dispatch time.

Assuming you're happy with the item:

5* for description
1* for communication
1* (or 2* if you're less mean than me) for dispatch time
I might knock a star off for P&P price too depending if I'd paid for first class or another premium service and yet still had to wait...for me, when I pay extra for postage, it's because I want my item ASAP...not in 2 weeks when the seller pulls their finger out.
