Looking for some advice plesae. DD came home from Uni for a visit last week with a very dead Macbook. She eventually fessed up that it "kinda just fell off my desk in halls" (sic). took it to Apple shop and they said it was basicaly bust. We took out Endsliegh for her when she moved into halls and policy seems to suggest she is covered. Prob is all her work is on the hard drive so we bought an external drive to house her data drive and she has gone back with this to Uni to try and use one of her friends Macbooks to get her data off. So at the mo we have a Macbook left here at home minus the data drive until she can download all the data and send the drive back to us. So I suppose my question is, if she can claim will it be ok that we had taken drive out for a few days or will that invalidsate the insurance? Og the mac is just over 2 years old by the way and out of warranty

Do you mean you took the hard disk out of the mac and put it in an external enclosure to access the files from another computer?
Endsleigh claim to replace laptops within 24 hours. If you'd have put a claim in straight away there wouldn't have been any need for any of this. I'd have thought it would be fine - do they even want to see the old laptop? If so just put the drive back in.0 -
@nomoneynow
As long as you have insurance with us, you will NOT have invalidated the cover by removing the hard disk. If you wish to make a claim, you can find our online claim form on our website or call 0844 472 2507.
