burning dual layer discs

hi folks
i am trying to burn a home movie onto a dual layer disc using pinacle studio 9
when i come to burn it doesnt seem to recognise thet i have a dual layer disc in, telling me i only have 131 mins
is there somethin simple i need to do (like download new drivers( or has any one got a clue
