  • I've also received a letter today (I'd received my 'goodwill gesture' payment of £2.7k previously).

The letter states (as other's letters have) that they have recalculated the previous goodwill gesture and noted a discrepancy of £130.01 and a cheque is enclosed for that amount.

They state they have also added an additional £50 to the enclosed cheque (which by my math makes it £180.01) as an apology.

    Guess what?

No cheque was with the letter!

Santander's incompetence never ceases to amaze me, I will be on the phone to them first thing tomorrow.

    Hi all,
I've been watching this since January and put a complaint in on 25 Jan via email as my flexi loan was for 9k. Had a letter back on 27 Feb saying they would look into it. Called them around an hour ago as its the magic 8 weeks tomorrow. Was told what others have been... they do not have a resolution for my complaint, have no timescale in which to respond and I can go to the FOS if I want to.
Am going to give it another couple of weeks and then that complaint is going in to the FOS.
The OH put his complaint in on 25 Jan and hasnt even had a letter back yet. ....
They really are a poor organisation!

received my letter today regarding incorrect calculation, already had 4.2K from them, enclosed is cheque for 229.00 which includes 50 pound goodwill gesture, think its another standard letter.

by the way, no cheque !!!!!!!
phoned them when I home from work, and low and behold there are a number of letters gone without cheques enclosed.

Has anybody received a cheque? or are they stalling again?

    I await my cheque.

  • Just fired off a follow up letter to Santander in furtherance of my complaint (sent my first e-mail on 23 February and got a pretty prompt standard reply through the post two days later). I know it’s only been 4 weeks since my initial complaint but I came across a screenshot of the original advert from 2001 promoting the flexible loan which states “withdraw additional funds using our online transfer facility” – well this facility was withdrawn years ago… “pay off credit cards or existing loans to make the most of our excellent rates” – well mine is now 20% so nowt ‘excellent’ about that… and finally “your interest rate remains the same however much you borrow” –clearly not! I know we all signed on the dotted line for a “variable rate” but I, along with almost everyone else, never thought it would ever increase especially as I have never defaulted on the loan in the 11 years that I have been paying it off (with £2k still to go!). Anyway I have sent a copy of said screenshot to them along with my SAR – let’s see what transpires… :)

hey I'm new to this, but was really interested when I found that I did indeed have one of these Cahoot Flexible loans...could someone give me a form of words that would help in lodging a complaint with Santander? Many thanks
