Santander are now refunding interest payments on Cahoot flexible loan's

Hi
Does anyone know how long it takes for settlement offers to be applied to balances as I am thinking about cancelling DD's, or should I just to this anyhow as they will be paid off.
Helen
I received a letter and cheque on 5th January, and my direct debit went out to them on 6th January, meaning I was £50 in credit, I emailed and today received a reply saying my account had been credited by £XXX.XX by cheque and once this had been applied to my account they would refund the £50, send me an email saying it had been actioned and confirm by letter. To be on the safe side, I would leave your DD in place until you have confirmation that your balance is at £0 to save any further complication.0 -
Got my response today.I have to say Santander have dealt very efficiently with this.Mine has taken just 10 days from first email to settlement
The letter states my account will be credited in 5-10 working days.
Final result is over 60% of my loan balance has now gone and now less than £1000 outstanding, what a relief !.The settlement is more than i expected as apparently my rate first rose within 4 months of opening the account and the interest rate initially was lower than what it said on my agreement !
The letter states that they can find no reason for complaint but as a gesture of goodwill etc etc .I think all this may have something to do with the withdrawal of the flexi facility as well as the rate rises.Either way its a great result, thanks to the OP to MSE and also to Santander for showing how complaints should be dealt with ..0 -
The payment due 6th January 2012, left my account on 6th so I assume this will be refunded back to my back account shortly.
Far as I am concerned my dealings with the Cahoot/Santander Flexi Loan are overjust waiting for my January statement to confirm this.

Don't panic, they are dealing quickly with these and i have to say full credit to Santander for that.
In my case initial mail was sent 1st Jan,received email from exec complaints on 4th Jan.Then nothing until today when i got the settlement letter dated 12th.Given that there was the bank hol on the 2nd they have sorted this in 8 working days !0 -

I agree with highadmiral, you will receive an email within a few days, just hang fire till a week is up, and if you still havent heard anything, then email again, or better still, give them a ring. Maybe because of the vast numbers of people claiming, they are just processing and settling, rather than emailing updates.0 -
Panic over!
I've just received an acknowledgement saying the matter has been passed to Executive complaints.
Response promised within '21 working days'. In other words a month lol.0 -
Yeah, faster payment of £56.17 refunded into my current account for direct debit payment of £50.00 6/1/12. :j

Hi nicky
Who did you send your email to for refund? Santander have taken d/d for £210 when loan should now be cleared.
Thanks0 -

Thanks
This was the email I sent to a Denise email ChairmanCB@santander.co.uk
"With reference to your email below, I received the letter and assume the balance on my account was at £0.00 after the credit of £950.19, however on 6th January my direct debit to santander of £50.00 was debited from my current account and this will show my Santander (formerly Cahoot) loan account balance as £50.00CR. Please can you rectify this situation if my balance is in credit and refund the amount as soon as possible."
Regards
And the reply from Santander
"Thank you for your email dated 9 January 2012. I will be looking in to this issue please allow me until the end of the week to supply you with my response. In the meantime if you would like to discuss this with me please do not hesiste to contact me on 01908 718622."
From a Michelle Cook email ChairmanCB@santander.co.uk

Had a similar problem. By balance on last statement showed arround £60. Santander took the next DD 3rd Jan for £100 , so I should be £40 in credit. Phone up and told oh no, you still owe us the £60. The December statement that showed a balance of £60, already included the direct debit due on 3rd Jan !! A balance is a balance .. How can they ask for more ?? Anyone else had this issue ?0
