No success on this challenge to report, I’m afraid. I started off really motivated, but realised by about halfway through that my efforts were better spent for now on more long-term income raising projects than eBay and points schemes and stopped even tracking what I did make. I think I got to about £150 if I include extra money saved. There were much bigger, easier gains for me to make first, which I’m sure other people here did ages ago.
But, I’m happy to report that changes I made to my current account, regular saver account and esaver should make me an extra £400 over the next yearAlso, I started official discussions with my employer about paying towards my diploma course and that could save me anything up to £2000 over the next 2 years (although I expect about half that.) I also established some better shopping habits – made the switch back to Lidl and started buying lunch from the supermarket or bringing in leftovers instead of buying takeaways/canteen food. So all in all, I’m not too disappointed that I was £70 or so below target for November.
Saving for deposit: Finished! :j
House buying: Finished!
Next task: Lots and lots of DIY0
