This might be OK, but KAs have a huge tendency to rust. And sitting around for 9 months is not good.

But you need to get mobile. I'd suggest trying to find a win:win. I'd suggest to him that you rent it for a month for £200 to see how reliable it is. and that if it works out to be a good little car you'll buy (either for the full £1000, or with some discount for the rent money paid - maybe £800 or £900).
Totally agree KAs are womens cars and tend to be low mileage, get someone underneath it.
Or a quick indicator look round the bit where you put the petrol, in if thats rusty, give it a miss.

With small children, I wouldn't touch this. It's a Fiesta made even cheaper at the end of the day and it always bothered me how they could be cutting more cost from the base model!

I'd be looking Focus/Astra/Golf/Leon etc or something on the Japanese front.

    5t.
What if there was no such thing as a rhetorical question?

To be honest i was a bit worried when he said he needed to charge the battery and changed his mind on price.

I will have a quick look as i finish work early on wednesday and want to see it in daylight.
