Not sure if this is the right forum to ask this but here goes. I have a rot iron fence which has seen better days. It is rusty and bits of it have broken off over the years. I would love a wooden picket type fence put in. It is approx 0.5m high and about 4m in length with a gate. Does anyone have any idea :
- what trades I would approach for quotes
- whether it can done or not
- ball park figure for costs

As sb says, that's not very large, but regardless of whether I was doing it myself, (which I would) or hiring a tradesperson, these would be the people to get the materials from:

If you browse the site you'll find they also make the fencing in rail & pale form and do gates to match.0 -
Thanks folks. Definitely will not be doing it myself. It is cemented in and I know my limits being a lassie
. Not feeble and opk DIY wise but hey ho we all have limits

Digging out and removing the old might cost in the region of £100-150. Putting up the new perhaps £200-250. Very rough guide.0

Thanks Dan. My brother told me today that I could get the posts cut out at the bottom then just get a wee fence put up after that so that is the plan. Even a rough guide that is good. I reconed at least £500 but I really had no clue5 Year plan. April 2020 to June 2025- CC and mortgage free by time I'm 60

I would always dig out the concrete posts etc but if you don't mind leaving them in the ground there's no harm I guess.0

Get a mini digger in for a half hour and cart the stuff away, not much £0
