Kodak V610 Digital Camera Slim design, 10x optical zoom (merged)

I have been monitoring the varied prices for this camera (as it is one that I am keen to get my hands on for the right price)

Generally it had hovered over the £230 mark after its initial price of £300 when it hit the market.

Since before Christmas, Currys and Dixons have had it on at £179.99 ....

....but now I have dicovered that PCWorld have it at £149.99 but it is "collect @ store" only.

Just thought a few others might like to know!

  • Currys/PCWorld have reduced the Kodak V610 to £149.99. This is cheaper than the web from what I can tell (best price was previously £179)

Great looking camera with a large LCD & good reviews (Oh, and a big zoom that you can get in your pocket !!). Here the spec from the website:-

"Kodak's V610 is the world’s smallest 10x optical zoom digital camera. It not only looks super stylish, but takes great quality 6.1-megapixel shots and movies too. Plus, it's packed with features such as bluetooth technology for sharing your images, image stabilisation for steadier video clips and a large 2.8cm LCD for framing and viewing your images"

i was thinking about buying one of these but a lot of the reviews say the picture quality is poor due to the lenses and the amount of compression used on saving the images.... And there is no anti-shake which is a bad thing due to the large 10X zoom on it..... Hopefully the next kodak ultra compact with a large zoom sorts these problems out.....

Typical of every Kodak camera... While I admit its fantastic packing a 10x zoom into this, I'd much rather walk a little closer and get a decent picture.
