Does anyone know what the current situation is with the Sony Playstation Store?

Recently purchased a PS3 and I thought I would register but it is saying "The server is currently down for maintenance". Is this just a temporary thing or is this as a result of the hack that was mentioned all over the press recently?

Might want to try to register on the website then sign in on your PS3

they're possibly doing maintenance, i wouldnt have thought they would be doing security upgrades so late after the event

Online registrations have been offline pretty much since the hacks earlier in the year, you can register for a psn account direct from your ps3.
Creating a Qriocity account AFAIK does not give you psn access as you need to create a psn username which you don't on Qriocity:)
