Car Insurance & Quidco

Don't know if it's a special offer but Privilage are offering £70 cashback on Car Insurance, they were £'s cheaper than Direct Line (even though they are the same company), got 25% off my policy all told!

Privilege and Direct Line are both owned by RBS and whilst Direct Line underwrite Privilege they do have their own rating system (same as Tesco and Mint are both also owned by RBS and underwritten by UK Insurance but have different ratings again)

Money from Quidco is not a "special offer" but is simply how much that they pay their affiliates for introducing people to them. The difference between Quidco and normal affiliates is that quidco (for now at least) give that money back to the person who they introduced where as the majority of affiliates keep the money for themselves as advertising revenue (in the same way this site keeps the money it gets for promoting confused.com etc)

Horses for course. Just compared the priviledge quote with my existing cover through Zurich and, for me, Priviledge comes out at over £80 more expensive. £80 cashback with Zurich as well (not forgetting free Green Flag roadside assistance). BTW, my sis inlaw has been with Direct Line for several years but I got her to get quotes (thru Quidco) with most of the insurers on there. Prudential was almost £100 cheaper PLUS the £100 cashback. When she rang Direct Line to cancel the renewal she was told that as they are losing loads of business recently (due to their silly high prices), they are making it their business to match other quotes. Totally naughty way of doing business IMHO and they DESERVE to lose business. Why not just reduce their prices for ALL their loyal customers?

Well I have been with Churchill for about 5 years now and every year I have checked my renewal against a select few other and they have always been very good on price... UNTIL this year!! Sure the renewal from Churchill was less than I am paying with them now (only a few pence though!) but when I checked Priviledge... they were £115 cheaper annually AND offer £70 through Quidco!!! :j

I rang Churchill (who I have been with for 5 years I remind them!) and they say "we'll see what we can do.." ..well after being on hold for 5 minutes, they reduce the price no problem but they are STILL £100 more expensive than my quote from Priviledge!! ...so much for the Churchill Challenge.. I'm off to Priviledge cos ya don't 'ave to be posh to be priviledged!!! ;)

Though being able to spell privilege is always a good thing ;)

Of cause the irony of it all is the fact that Churchill and Prudential are both RBS brands too

Being able to spell "Of course" would be beneficial also. :)
