Help... paid £290 for an item but it's not covered by Ebay

Something similar happened to a friend of mine, she could not claim from paypal at all. She spoke to her building society (nationwide) they told her they could not help either. She then went to the police, and demanded a crime ref and for them to investigate. They (the police) contacted eBay who gave them seller address etc, and then they contacted the sellers local police station, and sent someone round. She doesnt know what happened there, but upon contacting bank again, and explaining the police were involved via police advice they actually did to a chargeback.
Worth a try..
Yes I'll definitely try that, thanks :-)0 -
Its one of the biggest scams on ebay - and ebay and paypal are implicit in this crime, by not warning bidders they are not protected.
Remember £45 ish of your money is now in ebay and paypals hands.
They have resisted all calls to warn bidders -as its a good money spinner for them.
Bidders don't know they are not protected until its too late. Good luck getting it back.0
