Praise: Cheshire East Council Silver Bin

I guess there aren't too many threads on here praising a bin, but I am really quite pleased with the new silver bin system from Cheshire East Council.

We've had fortnightly black bin collections where I live for as long as we've lived there (about 2 years). For recycling we had a box for tins (and possibly glass), bags to put cardboard in and I'm not sure where plastic was supposed to go.

All the recycling collections have now been replaced with one silver bin collection. In here you can put the lot; paper, cardboard, plastic, glass, tins etc - no more sorting required. It saves a lot of time and I'm actually strangely impressed (considering it's a bin).

This started on October 3rd and there have been no problems with the first 2 collections.

I don't know what it's like in the rest of the country; we could be years behind other places for all I know; I don't tend to speak to my friends in London about bins! Nonetheless, I'm impressed enough to post some praise here, so thank you Cheshire East :)

I wonder if CWAC will follow suit?

I'm also Cheshire East but we've had the silver bins for some time now...no problems at all with it. I rarely get my black bin beyond half full in the 2 week period and tbh I can't understand how people say they need weekly collection of the non-recyclable rubbish. I almost always fill my silver one but just cant see how I'd get close to filling my black one
