I want to rant about what i think is abysmal customer service, yesterday i made a payment to my next account, and ordered some new bedding, to be delivered this morning before 1pm.
Today no bedding, so i ring the customer service department only to be told that due to a problem on my account, my order hadnt been despatched until today.
Did they email, or telephone me to advise i wouldnt be getting my order ? No
The excuse they keep giving me is that my payment was late ( its due today so its not late ) when asked if they have the payment i made yesterday they admit they have it, but i have to allow 2 days for it to clear.
Never mind the fact i only owed £20 and paid it, never mind the fact the website accepted my order and allowed me to specify delivery today, my account was flagged so due to a 'backlog' they were not able to release my order until today.
Now am i really in the wrong for
a) expecting my payment to show on my account
for thinking if i place an order on my account and it lets me all is well
c) for expecting an email or telephone call if something happens ?
d) asking them to remove the delivery charge ?
e) saying staffing issues are not my problem
Next seem to think so !!!
Im now waiting for the complaints department to call me back, am i being over sensitive or would anyone else be annoyed at being told that my payment is late, so they havent despatched my stuff, which ive paid next day delivery for only for it not to arrive ?
They even admitted that if i had made the purchases in the store using my card it would have let me so i dont really think the payment is the issue ( i only owed £20 )
So am i just being grumpy or would anyone else be peeved at this sort of service ?

And their stuff's not cheap either!Time has moved on (much quicker than it used to - or so it seems at my age) and my previous advice on residential telephony has been or is now gradually being overtaken by changes in the retail market. Hence, I have now deleted links to my previous 'pearls of wisdom'. I sincerely hope they helped save some of you money.0
