Sorry if this is the wrong section but......
my girlfriend lives in my mums house with me and is earning £430 a month full time on an apprenticeship, i earn nothing. With this money shes expected to help me with everything according to the jobcentre from paying my share of the food bill, for any items i may need (clothing etc) any dental work, glasses and so on. So to some it up i dont qualify for jsa and as a couple we cant get income support as were both under 25.
im looking for work but as everyone knows its hard especialy being 20 and with no real experience.
Anyway the main reason for posting is ive had 2 fillings this month which have been covered for by her and im now struggling to see most things as my glasses are about 5 years old, last time i brought a pair the cost came to £300 and this was without designer frames and any other luxuries is there any help i can get?
And before anyone gets judgemental she doesnt live with me through choice.

Is there something special about the type of lenses you need ? You should be able to get a pair much cheaper than this at somewhere like specsavers. I paid about £69 for two pairs of straightforward lenses & frames last time I went about a year ago (under a BOGOF offer)0 -

So why do you live together ? (just curious)
There are online sites that sell cheap glasses.0 -
I got new glasses a week ago - in Specsavers, they start from about £30. If it is just reading glasses, you can get cheap magnifying specs in the pound shop.0
