Still seems to leave one partition unaccounted for though... In older versions it was not possible to have more than one partition per drive letter. Is this possible with Win7?
I've not seen more than one partition per drive letter.
I'm slightly confused, OP do you have 1 or 2 physical hard drives?Move along, nothing to see.0 -
I have one hard drive which is split into Boot C 900 GB and Recover D 29.9 gB. Boot C is split into two. (100MB active) and( boot and 900.41GB system.) Recover D is split into two. (D recover 19.62GB) and (1GB Primary.) So i have got four partitions on the hard drive. When i created free space in C and tried to assign a letter to the new partition created from C i get a message all MBR slots are used and cannot create a new partition.I have tried with Paragon and Easeus partition master and also windows 7 disk manager. The small partition in C is..The 100MB volume is labeled as System Reserved with NTFS file system, and System, Active, Primary partition attribute with no drive letter in Disk Management. The 100MB system reserved partition is only available in Windows 7 Ultimate, home premium, Windows 7 Business and Windows 7 Enterprise editions. The 100 MB system partition in C is used primarily as BitLocker partition for BitLocker encryption. and it also holds the Windows Recovery Environment (WinRE) and boot files with boot manager for booting up the computer when there is no Windows 7 installation DVD disc.So i cant delete it as my system wont boot if i do.I have phoned Medion support this afternoon and they have told me to copy D and paste it into C drive and then delete D drive. After that they say i can create the new partition using free space by reducing volume in C.After that they say to create new D recovery partition by copying and pasting back the saved partition in C.Thinking about it it still wont work because if i try to create the new D recovery partition it will mean it is the fifth partition on my hard drive and windows 7 will not allow more than 4 partitions on one hard drive. Thanks for all your help but i dont think their is a way around this one as i am not a PC Technician. I suppose if you are very clever with computing it can be done somehow but i think i will just forget it for the moment and also when i buy my next pC i wiil make sure it has a twin hard drive Thanks.0
