backdoor program

Hi

Just reinstalled Avira Antivir, it has identified a (dangerous) backdoor program BDS/DSNX.05.A.23. It has quarantined this but I keep getting a detection message when I have the option to deny access. Anyone know how I can get rid of this altogether. I have googled this but only one entry which is not in English!

Thanks in anticipation:confused:

try a scan in safe mode (F8 at boot).

If you are using the XP firewall, then maybe zonealarm kerio or comodo might be better, they would alert you if a backdoor started talking to the outside world.
Ever get the feeling you are wasting your time?

Done scan in safe mode and installed ZoneAlarm. I have notice a large number of IDX files in MyDocuments is this a related problem?

Nero has a feature that saves a database of music information in IDX files. These are supposed to be kept in a separate folder, but Nero asks if you'd like to create the database, then what folder you like it in. If you click "Desktop" you will have a huge number of IDX files appear on your desktop. They are absolutely safe to delete--you can always get more from the Nero web site.
If you try deleting them manually, it can take forever, since there are sometimes thousands of them, and when you take a few off the desktop, more appear to take their place.
If you keep at it, you'll get rid of them eventually.
