Problems closing Paypal account

Just wondering if anyone could provide insight into this. I wish to close my Paypal account, everything has been paid for and I'm not a seller on Ebay so not awaiting any feedback etc. However, when I attempt to close it the message that comes up is "This account cannot be closed at this time because there are outstanding payment authorisations. Please try again after the authorisations have been settled or cancelled".
Now Paypal can be extremely vague and unpersonal, but this is all a bit frustrating.

when you sell something or purchase something through paypal the customer has quite a few months to start a dispute so you probally have to wait this long before you can close your account incase anyone has any claims against you. not sure exactly how long the dispute time is though.0
