Home Insurance away 90 days

Hi, I'm having an awful job getting annual Building and Contents insurance cover because my house will be unoccupied for 3 months. Can only seem to get cover for extremes ie fire, lightning, explosions, earthquake and aircraft. Best they can offer thus far is a payout of £5K for the entire contents of my home should the worst happen! How do people who over-winter abroad manage? Any suggestions will be much appreciated. (I am a pensioner)

    My parents neighbours are away for long stints abroad and they have their daughter come and stay overnight every 4th weekend whilst they are away to ensure insurance still valid
