Would have provoked a better response if Kirsty Allsop was the subject of the programme, I think.

She's got hips like a barn door now. Always preferred her younger sister, Sophie.

I do love these intellectual discussions.

At least she is putting the roof back on the place.

I wonder who it was who gave planning permission to build the sports hall adjoining the "listed" building.

Shows how arbitrary it all is - in the first series Beenie was making an old man very happy; but then he retired and got replaced as conservation officer.

The hormone enhanced Teresa Gorman MP (Tory) did something similar with a rotting farm house in my borough.
The local council (Labour) tried to throw the book at her.
Nothing so edifying as posturing poiticians.

Beeny's pad isn't on Green Belt land?

Beeny doesn't appear to be annoying her neighbours?

I heard an interview the Beenster gave on radio 5 about this issue a week or so back.

It seems that she wants the property to earn it's keep by the staging of weddings and other events (she didn't specifically mention film).

The council planners have objected as this is a change of use. She did know their position before she bought the property so can hardly claim to be misled.

Her argument for them changing is based on some 'greater good' / giving back kind of arrangement. I expect a lot more interviews where she waxes lyrical about the injustice of it all. She can't defend on the basis of where she grew up; it's miles from where she grew up 'in the shires'.

That program is a repeat isn't it? Perhaps the usual 'Frothers' have already covered that ground?

    'Frothers'.
  • 'Frothers'.

You'd know Graham. Chief 'Frother' of the board. :rotfl:

  • She bought a beautiful Georgian building in the middle of nowhere and in disrepair for a bargain price.

I can't see how letting it be used for weddings is going to effect anyone, why not use the 105 (I think), bedrooms for guest instead of letting it rot for another 50yrs. Councils grrr full of committees who like the sound of their own voice.

I would say its nice to see the couple get on but so many on here are jealous of anyone who is prepared to work hard in a career and get rewarded 'it should have been me' they cry from their arm chairs. lol
