You still pay the tax on the car when it comes into the country anyway when you try to register it. Your only hope is that the car price without the local tax is less than here - which is unlikely given the crap rate of £ to Euro.

If you MUST buy new - and its a fantastic way to blow 50% of the cars value in three years, then look at a budget brand car such as Skoda or Kia for all the toys and the new car smell.

Failing that check out the likes of broadspeed.com for discounted new cars, OR look at nearly new at one of the supermarkets.

That's what I said. I wouldn't drive into the other lane if I can't see, so I'll sit behind the bus waiting for it to pull off like a doofus. If other drivers decide to drive blind, then that's their problem. As a matter of fact, it's illegal to drive blind in any vehicle layout.
