Hi,
New forumite but long time moneysaver!
I'm about to move house and I'm keen to get Sky HD. I will be a new customer as I cancelled my subscription a while ago.
I was wondering if you have any advice on how to get the best deal on the HD box? Are there any deals where I could get it free, or at a discount (if I sign up to the full 'package' for 3 months - for example)?
Thanks in advance!

To the best of my knowledge you have to have the Sky World package to be able to get Sky HD. Sky World is £43.50 pcm + £10 pcm for the limited number of Sky HD channels. You also have to pay a one of charge of £299 for the box and £60 installation. And it goes without saying you need a HD ready TV!0

I don't think there's any deals on Sky HD at the moment. As above, you'll have to pay the full amount.Dave. :wave:0

Make sure you sign up through a cashback site such as quidco, or get a friend to recommend you so you both profit. You can also sign up through places like Currys and get a cheaper deal because of their commission,0

oh ye of little faith, https://www.sky.com ring sky and ask them if they can do you a deal, 1/2 price HD they sent me an email before xmas asking me to recommend a friend, they could get free sky, or 1/2 price sky+ and I could have free sky+ or 1/2 price HD for the referrel, but I did'nt know anyone who didnt have sky. I would like another sky+ with multiroom but fraid I'm going to have to haggle for it when I ring up, and hope I get it.
Pls be nice to all MSer's

Thanks computerwoman!
I've got a lot of experience in blagging Sky for free stuff... using the old "Well I'll cancel my contract then thank you" routine. Not being a current subscriber I figure I don't have much weight behind me but also that they'll want my custom on the most expensive package, at least for a few months.
I'll see what I can blag and let you know how I get on!!The only thing about me is the way I walk.0
