I returned to work after 9 months and had 35 holidays & stat days. I am taking one holiday a week so I am getting full time pay, put don't have to put the baby in the creche full time.

I *think* you don't always have to repay the diff between the statutory and what the employer pays if you leave - it depends what's in your contract.
Have you thought about whether you want to go back part or full time and how long you want to be off for? There are rules about whether you are entitled to come back to the same job or not dependent on how long you are off, but I can't remember exactly how it works. You could try the Employment board, somebody there will know.

The only thing to bear in mind is that if you decide not to return to work after the 52 weeks of leave you will have to repay your company the difference between the statutory maternity pay and the maternity pay that your company offers you above.

It would be most likely that you would have to return to your job for a certain amount time before you could leave (if you wanted) and not have to repay the difference.

thats not always the case, it depends on company policy. Where I work you get the extra even if you don't come back.

Gosh, you got any jobs going? This is very generous!

On holidays, our place encourages you to use up any before you go on ML (or they pay them at the point you go). If your maternity leave spans into the following year, most women take that year's allowance at the start of when they come back, e.g. if you're back to work on 1st Sept, most would take two weeks annual leave from 1st Sept and then start working again on the 14th Sept, using the rest as normal over the rest of the year.

    Good luck!
