Unsold listing which I interested in?

Last night I washed (in the washing machine) an item of my sons which has been discontinued. There are currently two up for sale on Ebay.

One finishes tomorrow has lots of bids and is going for £150+

I have searched completed listings for the same item to discover two have sold this month with only one bid for under £100!

There is a third listed and went unsold.

The seller of this item is a bit like myself, Ebaying sporadically:o

I am tempted to contact them and ask if they still have the item for sale.

Any thoughts or opinions on doing this would be appreciated.

no harm in dong so - you can lway suggest that they relist at a buy it now if they want to.
  • I had to read your post twice to get your meaning.

Did you mean you want to buy a replacement for your son's which you washed?

If so nothing to stop you contacting the seller to ask if they still have it - they may do a Buy it now for you. Worth a shot. :-)

Yes. I feel I need to replace it. It was in a trouser pocket and normally I would put the blame on him for not emptying his pockets. However on this occasion he had been to rugby training and I took his rolled up school trousers out of his bag to wash without checking the pockets first!
  • What the heck was this item, £100 and fits in a pocket, unless it's a mobile what the heck was it?

It is worth contacting the seller. As a seller, that has happened to me a couple of times when items have ended and not been sold and I have happily relisted it with a buy it now price. Buyer gets the item quickly and I get rid of it so its a win win situation all round if they still have the item. Am also intrigued as to what it is though!!
  • When you contact the buyer through the completed item listing remember to state what it is you are asking about. Ebay removes all the details of the item from questions when it has finished so the seller ends up with a query without knowing what it refers to.

This has happened to me a few times and each time I have explained to the wouldbe buyer but I'm not sure they believe me because they never get back to me. :(
  • Hi
I was watching an item last week, and stupidly got distracted just before the listing end.
The item went unsold, so i contacted the seller who agreed to relist at the start price for buy it now.
She asked when would be best time for me for her to list, and she e-mailed when the listing went live.
An all round good seller, so its definitely worth asking!!:)
