My DD has just had a PSP. I bought her a 2gb memory card but when she tries to save games it won't let her. It says something about somthing being corrupt. Can't remember exactly what it said.
Any Ideas??????
I've also heard that you can download films on to it but have no idea how to do this or even if its legal?????????
Thanx

You are able to download files onto the memory stick, but you have to fiddle around a lot with the firmware of the PSP, which can be a bit risky, as if it breaks your warranty will be void. But I don't think that it is illegal to do that....
If you do fiddle with the firmware, I think you are legally entitled to play 'homebrew' games (home-made), but it is illegal to download an official PSP app/game as it will be infringing copyright..
Correct me if I'm wrong though guys...0 -
From what I have been told, putting altered firmware on your machine is breaking the contract of use with Sony, this is purely hear say, but it may or may not be correct.
And I am not sure what sony are likely to do about it even if it is breaking any contract.
You probably do need to format the card, I did with mine.0 -

Don't mess with firmware unless you're really confident of what you're doing. Based on the above, I'd suggest you aren't!
There's plenty of legal video content for the PSP that doesn't require firmware upgrades/downgrades. Try www.yourpsp.com amongst others.
I'd definitely try reformatting the memory card, although bear in mind this will wipe anything that's on there.0 -

I think it's fair to say that there are a few psp owners out there who watch illegal (ie pirated) films on their psp.0 -
When uselesswithmoney says saving games I don't think he/she actually means putting full games on the memory but just the save files from the games.
And yes it is possible to put DVDs on your PSP memory card check out http://www.teampsp.co.uk/tutorials/how-do-i-get-my-dvds-on-my-psp- for detailed instructions. If that link doesn't work just go to http://www.teampsp.co.uk/tutorials/ and the link is there. I believe the new law makes this legal. Basically you didn't use to be allowed to copy music or videos or anything to a new source so you couldn't copy a cd you had bought on to your MP3 player. However the new law states you can for your own purpose and as long as you have paid for the product so I assume this would be true of DVDs as well, might be worth checking though if your worried.0
