Simply, open hotmail (or whatever webbased client you have), Compose a new message, start by typing in the recipients, Subject and email content. Click on attach, then just click on the word file you created and click Ok.

It will upload to hotmail, then click send (within hotmail).

    Easy :)

I am in hotmail. Then I click new. start tying in the person I want the email to go to and it fills the rest in automatically because they are in my contacts. Then I click attachment. I click on the word document and then click sent to. I click on compressed zip folder then send but when I open it .......

Where are you opening it from? Are you sending it to yourself, then opening up the attachment from your Inbox?

Why do you feel you need to open it anyway? You've created it, you've zipped it, why not just send it to whoever you want to send it to?
  • I did what you said, went into Hotmail, typed in the email addresses I wanted to send it to then clicked on attachment and went back and found my letter in word and waited for it to upload then sent.
However, some people have been able to open the letter and others havent. Back to snail mail then for some. Thanks for your help though, much appreciated.

They'll only be able to open it if they have Word, or a compatible program. Their issue, not yours.
Better to send your docs as .rtf if this is the case.
