Hi everyone

Ive sold my van and its being picked up at 6.30pm today.

Could someone let me know that when I write out the receipt, if I should write an exact duplicate to be kept by myself?

I have always done that.

Put the time on as well as it is the best defence if the new owner gets flashing by a speed cam on the way back and tries to say it was still your van (also protection for them if you got done earlier in the day - best way to convnce them).

If you want belt and braces - get a third person to sign it too i.e. witnessed by.

I know it's probably a bit late now, but you are VAT registered and reclaimed the VAT on the purchase of the van, you must charge VAT on the sale price of vehicle.
