Help! Where can i get a non-standard front bath panel?

Options
Hi,

I fitted my bath a while ago and now i'm finally finished tiling the bathroom have discovered i've set it too high and there is an inch gap above the bath panel! Elementary mistake but i set it to the old bath height and didnt fit the bath panel at the time so didnt notice in time to adjust!

I now need to get a 550mm high front bath panel in plain white plastic but i'm really struggling - any suggestions where i could get one (im in leeds)? It has to be plastic and i'd like to avoid having to cut down unless anyone has any tips on how to do it and make a neat job of it?

Thanks

Why not lift the panel you have by fixing a suitable piece of timber on the floor to support it in the correct position?
  • g/f wont have it as thinks it will stick out like a sore thumb and she doesnt want that having spent what we have on the bathroom....

Nice bit of timber nicely finished would look fine.

Anyway.........the panels are not hard to cut with a jigsaw fitted with the correct blade.

Have you already put down something on the floor?
  • put laminate down already. I've found a 700mm panel so i'm going to get that and try and do a neat job of cutting it down - heres hoping?!?

If you are going to cut the panel with a jigsaw use a fine blade and make sure that you support the panel close to where you are cutting.this will stop the panel shaking about and you making a right b***S up of it.
If I was you I would put some insulation or masking tape on the base of your jigsaw cos sometimes you can mark the surface of the panel.
You could always cut the panel for the 'back' side.
Oh and another good idea for free.........double check your measurements before you start cutting

Two points: Can't you use a piece of timber to make up the height and cover it with a piece of plastic, uPVC trim or similar.
I'd never cut a bath panel with a jigsaw, just too much chance of it vibrating and causing unwanted damage.

would you not put some sort of timber in place of bath panel and tile it to match the walls?
