According to my Solicitor he recommends not using them on the basis that they recently changed their mortgage panel and hence there are fewer solicitors they are willing to deal with that introduce their own additional fee for the contracts and introduce delays in the process. This is advice from the Law Society. This is worrying me enough to probably steer clear, though I am now more unsure than ever.0
