Excel/Graham White phone calls

Hi, I recieved a parking penalty for my company car and have followed the general advice and ignored all letters that have come, first from Excel, then Roxburghe and then Graham White Solictors.

As the car is a company car, all of the letters have been addressed to the company. Since the final warning letter there have now been several phone calls which have all been taken by unkowing colleagues who have said they weren't aware of the issue and have got rid of them.

I have no intention of paying this but the last phone call this morning said we had 24 hours before legal proceedings began. I'm just a little bothered about the hassle this would cause my employer - is this likely to be acted upon and go to court?

Not sure if it helps but the ticket was issued for Stockport Peel Centre where excel have recently lost a case for poor signage.

Any comments would be much appreciated.

Thanks

firstly, you have not recieved a,,parking penalty,,you have recieved,,,,a parking charge notice,,merely an unenforceable invoice from these clowns.secondly if they continue to harass you ,,either a)completely ignore and phone calls,,,b)if you feel they wont stop harassing you on the phone,,,tell them this,,,the debt is denied,,and if they dont stop harassing you will inform office of fair traiding and this call is being recorded,,then hang up,, do not converse with them,,but realy take option a),,,,i spend lots of time informing folk in the peel centre of this scam,, i just tell them to ignore me,as they dont know me and to google,,excell parking scam,,some thank me some think ime nuts,,but hopefullly this will stop un suspecting motorists paying up,,i also do the same a few yards away at aldi,, as another ppc parking eye, known as parking lie/spy are doing the same thing there (newbridge lane),,please spread the word,,that this is a scam and to google them.i have a drawer full of loo paper from roxburghe and gw,,who are based at the samw address by the way????,,no surely not.

  • thanks for the replies. I'll just keep ignoring then, unlikely they would take to court but I'm quite prepared to fight it all the way. It's just the phone calls that are irritating.

Excel were well and truly spanked a few weeks ago as the result of a case that came from the Peel Centre. Read Here. The judge even refused them leave to appeal. They're only interested in your money and the prospect of another drubbing in court is unlikely to encourage them back to it anytime soon. Continue to ignore them. Roxburghe's are under investigation by the OFT who've told them that they are "minded to revoke" their debt collection licence.
My very sincere apologies for those hoping to request off-board assistance but I am now so inundated with requests that in order to do justice to those "already in the system" I am no longer accepting PM's and am unlikely to do so for the foreseeable future (August 2016). :(

For those seeking more detailed advice and guidance regarding small claims cases arising from private parking issues I recommend that you visit the Private Parking forum on PePiPoo.com

Personally I'd be making a claim against Excel. Would involve a day out and a bit of work, but with that court case, the harassment and latest OFT guidance, I'd be sticking in a claim for £150 myself.
