AA home cover insurance any advise appreciated

I was cold called last April and sold AA home cover insurance. I was with British Gas at the time and was told the cover was not only the same but better. I got a letter along with the policy docs saying that they would contact me within 6 weeks to arrange boiler service. I put docs away and forgot about them to be honest. I rang today because I have 2 radiators which are not heating up and was told I am only covered for a total heating failure, have had this problem with BG and have always had an engineer call no bother and fix. I asked to cancel my policy as it was off no use to me and was told I would still have to pay the rest of the premiums - about £140!! Anyone know where I stand and if I have to pay or not the policy is no good for me I have gone from being 'cold' called to just cold !!!! :mad:
