I think we've had some technical glitches. I'll remove duplicates when I see them, and when it lets me log in of course which isn't guaranteed sometimes.

I was looking forward to the board livening up again.
Thought you'd be dismissing the accountants input as scaremongering (possibly because he's looking for work) or maybe you might even have been a little nervous.
Or are you just keepin your head down know fella? ;+)
I've been hearing this "the tax man is really going to be clamping down on Ebay sellers this year" every year for the past 7 years so it's like water off a duck's back to me.
Whilst ever there's this never ending stream of do-gooder's rushing down to the tax office so that they can pay their stamp on the fivers worth of tat in their attic that they're about to sell, then we'll still be hearing the same "the tax man is really going to be clamping down on Ebay sellers this year" in another 7 years time.

TBH, if you're buying items to sell and you don't register for tax then you're a fool. It's only a matter of time before the tax man catches up with you.-->♥<-- Sugar Coated Owl -->♥<--

Like I say it's each to their own! I personally know 3 'sub 30' year old people who have now been caught because they thought it would never happen to them.
Snooze - What you do is up to you but don't come on here moaning if you get caught and have to sell your house to pay the debt etcYou can't pick up your teeth with broken fingers!0

Don't worry! I won't! I do love reading these "I know someone who knew someone who knew someone who got caught" stories though. Funny how it always happens to someone else and you never read about these "alleged" stories anywhere in the press, except for extreme cases where what they've been selling has been highly illegal etc.

Although there was that ebay seller recently who got done for claiming benefit while making a mint on ebay. Wonder if the revenue (aka HM customs) will be popping round for tea and a chat? As far as I can tell, HM customs are more interested in ebay sellers who have a huge turnover and should be registered for VAT.0

Are HM Customs & Excise and the inland revenue not two different things? ie, the former being the vatman and the latter being the inland revenue?
Or in Snooze Controls case, one will hold him down while the other kicks him...0

They used to be separate departments but now they are all one..HMRC - Her Majesty's Revenue and Customs.
Probably makes it easier to catch people who import and underdeclare the value of the goods and then trade with them without making the required revenue declaration, they get a double whammy.
