Royal Mail

I've just had a renewal invoice from Royal Mail for my company PO box with home delivery, which has risen from £125 to £200 per annum. I find this totally unjustifiable in these difficult times. I did call their sales desk but they were not equipped to deal with my complaint and told me I had to pay it!! Any advise? Is there a competitor I can go to? I also mailed Moya Greene (their MD) but do not expect much back from her.

Thanks in advance

Bob

Royal Mail have increased all their fees this year. Our daily collection fee has increased by 30% this year too. Their attitude, if you do get someone to take your call, is "that's the price, take it or leave it".

To be honest though, to have a collection every day, to save me going myself to the PO is worth every penny of the £2.50 per day it works out to. It's not a bad price when you work it out that way, its just a huge year on year increase.

If you really can't stand it, my-uk-mail still do a PO box for £120 per year.
You had me at your proper use of "you're".

I think if you want the post forwarded daily that would be quite expensive as they charge extra for forwarding to your address. If you don't mind waiting and getting a week or a month's worth at a time it would be more economical.

OP, do you really need a PO Box? If you used your postal address it would be much simpler.

What you have to remember is that Royal Mail sort and deliver all their rivals mail (except parcels). For this, they can only charge 25p per item (set by the regulators). It costs Royal Mail 38p per item to sort and deliver said items.
By using rival services such as DHL Mail, TNT Mail & UKMail, you will end-up costing RM 13p per item, so to cover their costs, they will increase their prices.
    Never Knowingly Understood.

RM are now delivering the rivals parcels, at a loss of course.
