Hello, I am married but seperated, we have a child aged 4. I live with my new girlfriend who has 2 children of her own. she claims working and child tax credits. am i eligible for tax credits? do i have to notify hmrc that i am living with my girlfriend, would she qualify as a 'partner'? and if so would it affect her tax credits? i am working earning around 12,500. Any help would be appreciated.Thank you

your girlfriend needs to stop her claim immediately ( if she is claiming as a single parent whilst you are living together, she could, at best, be faced with an overpayment and , at worst, prosecution), and you should reapply as a couple.
assuming you child luves with it's mother, then it is she and not you that will be entitled to claim for that cild.0 -
You cannot have 2 claims going for the same people at the same time.
You should be on your girlfriends tax credits claim already. She must do this NOW0
