What happens when DRO finishes.
Options
Hello there,
My DRO is finishing in the next 10 days however i'm unclear as to what happens next.
Once my DRO was approved last November all creditor letters stopped immediately but still now get the occasional letter from Halifax ref a loan that was included in my DRO.
So what I'm asking for is will i have to inform all my creditors my DRO is finished and all my debts are finished or will they be informed automatically by the insolvency people.
Thanks.

I don't think anyone is informed when a DRO ends - not even you! Creditors are informed when it is first granted. You may be receiving standard letters which Halifax are required to send under the Consumer Credit Act 1974 - they have to continue to send these even while you are within the 12 month DRO period. They should stop after it ends as you will be discharged from your debts at that point.

Your DRO will show on the IS register for 3 months after it ends. It'll be worth printing a copy of the discharged DRO record to show your creditors if they come back but it's an automatic discharge and noone is notified of it ending so nothing will happen other than your creditors will need to finally write off the debts through their own processes.Total 'Failed Business' Debt £29,043
