is there any way I can connect my 3 dongle to a wireless router so I can use my laptops wirelessly instead of having the dongle plugged into them

It depends on your router. Draytek Vigor 28xx allow you to do this.

Are you talking about sharing your 3 connection with other laptops using a router?

If so, it will be very very slow, but there might be a simpler way.

You can setup ICS on the laptop with the 3 dongle plugged in. From here, you create your own wireless network so the other computers connect to your laptop and use it's internet connection. Again, speeds will be dire, but will have the same net result

I have an Edimax 6200n works find as long as your dongle is compatible, I have also used one or two which aren't listed and it still worked fine.

Yes on one of the new mifi devices, utilises HSDPA+ in theory up to 21mb/s

Its a very good piece of kit, twice as fast speeds as I was getting on the older model.

I got the oe month contract, cancelled straight away and after quidco cash back it works out at something like £48

Ahh yes, that's not the USB 3G dongle though (as USB wouldn't handle the bandwidth).

Those pings seem poor though :(

So do tell us what the available bandwidth of USB is?
