in Credit cards
Wife applied online for Vanquis and was called the next day and she conformed her details and was asked to set up a direct debit but she told the lady she would rather pay a statement.
Today she receives another phone call with the same questions and the lady says its gone to the applications department and we will let you know.
My wife has two catalogues and just wanted a credit card to show on her file and picked Vanquis to give her extra green zeros and to give her a chance of getting a better card later.
Going to spend £40 a month and pay it off in full as there is more interest than Johnny Depp
Anyone else had a couple of phone calls from Vanquis and is this normal? She doesn't know if she's accepted or declined.
Thanks

very strange, sounds like they are in 2 minds for some reasonDon't put your trust into an Experian score - it is not a number any bank will ever use & it is generally a waste of money to purchase it. They are also selling you insurance you dont need.0

When I got my phonecall, they didn't even ask me to set up a direct debit. I assumed they didn't want to encourage me to pay the full balance by direct debit in the hope they may make a little money out of me (they haven't and never will!)
I'm sure if would be easy enough to set up the direct debit then just cancel it after the first month and pay online. I've always paid online without any problems.
I have, however, been receiving numerous calls from Vanquis (keep missing them!) - think they are trying to persuade me to take out a transfer to my bank as I've just got my letter this morning informing me they're doubling my limit.0 -
vanquis did me proud, after giving me cashback for taking the card I never used and shredded once activated have helped me with the co-op £200. I set a dd up for the balance, but theres never going to be one lolDon't put your trust into an Experian score - it is not a number any bank will ever use & it is generally a waste of money to purchase it.
