When we start out on the DFW trail we do loads of "big stuff" that makes quite a difference to our situation. These include having our lightbulb moment, cutting up the credit cards and cancelling Sky and the gym.
But once we have done the bigger stuff, we often feel that we are not making the same amount of progress, when in fact the small steps are helping us form good financial habits and helping us get closer everyday to staying in control and becoming debt free, or staying debt free
Examples could be charging your phone up at work instead of at home to save your electricity, hanging washing out instead of using the tumble dryer or leaving your purse/wallet at home to avoid the risk of spending. :money:
So be proud of those small steps, they really are important.
Morning guys! I hope everyone is well. I feel like I am coming out of a long dark tunnel but today is a new day and I intend to feel better, can't mope around forever can I??? So me today:

Yuck, it is pouring with rain here today It rained till about 3pm It rained till about 3pm then stopped long enough to walk the dogs and take carp to CS then stopped long enough to walk the dogs and take carp to CS
Thanks for starting the thread DNMS, and I do hope you feel better soon
 Today:
OH working today, so a day at home on my own as I am still on leave Ended up not doing very much as the cold that has been lurking has decided to appear with a vengeance Ended up not doing very much as the cold that has been lurking has decided to appear with a vengeance
Check bank accounts. I must sort this, as we have 2 accounts which each incur a fee if £1000 isn't paid in monthly  OH has given up his regular job and gone self employed doing things he likes, which is fine, but he isn't going to be paying in anything like £1k, and it is going to be an awful faff for me to service both of these accounts to avoid the charges . I think I will arrange for my wages to be paid into the joint account, and move the direct debits. I will then close the other account as soon as I am sure that things are going in and out as they should be. Best to do it myself I think to avoid giving S*ntander any excuse to mess things up :eek: Had a look at this and there are 4 direct debits to move - important ones like the mortgage, Npower and buildings insurance  I will have to start this after I have been paid at the end of the month.
[STRIKE]DD1 gave me a set of mugs for my birthday, so am going to take some of my 'old' mugs to the CS. They are fine, and I was quite happy with them (I didn't NEED new ones) but I now have more than 20, and will donate some in the spirit of my new one in, one out decluttering policy! Also chuck in some horrible smelling perfume and body lotion that I was given a couple of years ago - somebody might like it, and it wasn't mega-cheap[/STRIKE] Done, trundled down town with my shopping trolley all loaded up after walking the dogs Done, trundled down town with my shopping trolley all loaded up after walking the dogs
List 2 items on ebay, boring, but necessary given need to keep new house as clutter free as possible Haven't done this Haven't done this
 Finish hoovering Or this
 Clean bathroom Or this either
Clear clutter from surfaces in dining room and lounge, and put it away Cleared some of it, but not all
[STRIKE]Sort out pile of sheets and duvet sets that have taken up residence at the top of the stairs [/STRIKE] (I have pulled them out of the airing cupboard) Done, and taken unwanted ones to the CS
Go to doctors surgery and tell receptionist of change of address. Also order repeat prescription for asthma inhalers Ordered repeat prescription by phone and asked about change of address. Apparently I will need to fill in a form, so will do it on Monday when I collect prescription.
Was going to sort out the front garden, but given the rain, that will need to wait for another day :mad: Rained till 3, then stopped long enough to take dogs out and dash to CS in town - then started pouring AGAIN
[STRIKE]Make cauliflower and macaroni cheese for tea[/STRIKE]:D Done, made loads, enough for tomorrow as well :T
 [STRIKE]
Try to keep heating off until tonight despite despite horrible weather.
[/STRIKE] It is still off, as not cold, just wet and horrid!0

            Morning Gang,
Thanks to Determined for starting the thread – well done on the change of mindset...it does work (plus it helps if you imagine that everyone who hurts you come back as dung beetles)
I feel its going to be one of those days....the person next to me is already moaning and it’s only 8:15!
 Today I have/will:
 • Checked online banking – no change
 • Breakfast and dinner from storecupboard
 • LSD – only buying something cheap for lunch (month end madness still, and havn’t got anything in the house for lunch)
 • Read freebie paper on the train
 • Used railpass to get to work
 • Checked quidco – no change
 • Read newspapers online
 • Reading a library book when I have spare time
 • Take vits and meds to control hormones
 • Update food diary
 • Drink plenty of water
 • Need to keep an eye out for MS jobs and surveys
Think that is about all, have a great day and sparkle!

Morning! THis thread is a great idea, I dont have a huge list today as I am off work this week
Its a cold and rainy day, so trip to park with DS is off but he wants to look at the fish and bunny rabbits in pets at home instead - so intend to not spend any money apart from a bit of petrol.
 I have got to:
check my bank accounts and pay bills
take DS to see fish/rabbits in pets at home
fill in forms to switch bank accounts (been putting off for WEEKS!)
sort out enormous pile of old paperwork on table and shred/file/deal with (also been putting that off)
 enter comps
 cancel lovefilm
find cheapest local petrol station while i have time to make a special journey today
not buy any wine or fags!
with exception of petrol, have a NSD - would that count?
 have a good day everyone,
 rach0
