Hang on a minute... 3plus1 'Foreign language assistants registered with the Central Bureau for Educational Visits and Exchanges' - surely that includes au pairs? They are after all here to learn English as a cultural exchange. Anyone any idea?? Anyone know what the Central Bureau might be?

A Foreign Language Assistant is something totally different from an Au Pair. She would be a student in her own country who comes to England as part of her degree course, usually teaching her own language in an educational establishment. The Central Bureau is part, I believe, of the British Council.

    Keep trying!

Sort of. You don't have to be doing a degree to be a foreign language assistant - you could have already graduated. But the rest is correct.

The au pair doesn't qualify, sorry about that, but I don't think there's any way round this!
  • Thanks for the correction; I didn't know that.

We - I'm guessing there are at least two of you... ...if more than one adult in a house hold is not a student = no 25% discount... So it doesn't matter what course you plan to send her on, it will not have any effect on your bill.

If you are married, you could try divorce as well - I'm guessing it depends on what extents you will go to penny pinch.
