Upto £150 cashback on New Sony TV's

Hi there guys,
Sony are offering upto £150 cashback via a prepaid card when you purchase certain TV's at the moment and I believe on many other electrical items. The TV I just purchased is a Sony KDL40EX723BU, I saw this TV in Dixons or Comets (can't remember which one) for sale last week for £999 and it is a quality TV. Anyway Tesco currently have it For Sale for £849 and you get £100 back once you send form off to Sony, not bad I thought. Done abit of digging around and the cheapest place to purchase is on Amazon for £664.99 and with the £100 I would get back makes it £564.99 for a 40" FULL HD Sony Bravia 3D LED tv. What a bargain! So works out in the end about 43% discount from normal retailers.
Cashback ranges from £30 - £150 and on some Sony items you even get a free PS3. Depends on the total price for item you want as to what you will get in cashback.
I will include the link from Tesco's website to download the form to send back to Sony so if you do abit of digging around you could get a real bargain. http://www.tescotechsupport.com/sony-cashback/ on the link aswell is a list of products and the available cashback for the item if you purchased that item.
So if you are looking for a TV at the moment I thought this would help you out in getting a good deal.

Help re. 40” Sony Bravia advertised by Argos but it’s not at Argos
The advert for Argos as in the Sun newspaper on Sat Oct 29th page 65 clearly states
40” Sony Bravia save £200 including cashback £100 cashback
price 449.99 in store price
price 349.99 after cash back
cat no 529/8075
So I reserved this TV at Argos using this exact item number and find it is £449.99. I than ring the Argos customer care line spoke to Paula at approx 15:15 on 31 October she said go to the sony.co.uk/smartoffers to get the offer. Then I went to the site inserted my postcode for my local store and was given an 0845 6340475numer (which I believe is premium rate) I rang the number I am given option after option repeated constantly same options repeated time and time again and I was eventually cut off by them. Wow this is an offer it does note exist!
I since checked the Argos website today and now it is £479.99 today!
What on earth is going on all I want to do is buy a TV as advertised. It is totally not as advertised and it is not with Argos either. In addition what we’d like to know is how you are supposed t get the additional £20 if you spend over £100 it says save up to £250 on TVs and get £20 worth of Argos vouchers on the page 65 of the Sun Sat Oct 29th how am I meant to get the Argos vouchers if I can’t even get the TV and it’s not from Argos?
I have never had so much trouble trying to spend my money in all my life! Absolutely disgusted and we usually spend hundreds in Argos on a regular basis. Is this a scam?
This needs sorting out. Trades Descriptions does not come anywhere near to what we have experienced.0 -

1st of all the Sony offer is not a scam! And secondly it seems as if your problem is with Argos! To be fair to Argos they have the right to change/end any promotion they have on offer at the time. You will have to read the small print it probably states a date you have to buy the TV by or it could say something like on 1st 5 televisions sold in each store etc. If that is not the case and the offer is still valied you need to have it out with Argos and don't give in until they give it to you for the price you want! As for the 0845 premium rate number, most companies do this now to increase profit margins!0 -
Bought my Sony TV in August from Apollo - can I try and get any cashback ? (half-joking, half asking ! )

Save yourself and buy a better TV Sony 40CX523 with HD Freeview from Costco at £419.98 - Comes with free 5 years warranty as well.
Total price after cashback would be £319.98
Hope that helps someone

thanks very much for this. I have read the small print and it is in date it does not say eg. first 5 TV's etc. I will take this up with Argos I just don't think they know what they are doing with this and the staff we have spoken with don't know. After being a customer at Argos for many years we're just disappointed with all of this what a polava. Thanks again0

Yer sorry, its a pre-paid visa card which in my view is basically cash back because visa is accepted everywhere. Technically though its not obviously! Didn't bother me though the fact that its not actaully a bank transfer or cheque to be honest?0 -

Good information - thanks. In my view it's not cash back. A true incentive is when you get a cheque or bank transfer to deposit and actually save or withdraw cash when you need to. With this pre-paid Visa card you need to use it to spend again to get your refund. Then, juggle with figures to spend the exact amount of the 'cashback' before there is some top-up requirement. Maybe you could just shove the card into an ATM and request real cash. I doubt it. It's a genuine offer but is not cash!0
