switch now before its too late, EDF are the last of "the big 6" to announce price increases, w/e/f 10/11/11 prices will rise. The last of the big six energy firms will increase its electricity by 4.5% and gas prices 15.4%. Go through a cash back site like Top Cash Back or Quidco and get £20 cash back for switching, get onto the Price Protection tariff 2014 and get a £75 welcome bonus as well, that's £95 for switching and you will be exempt from price increases till 30th June 2014. There are shorter fixed deals like 2013 and 2012 but I'd go for the long term.
(the £75 welcome bonus is applied to your first quarterly electricity bill 30 days after it goes live and on supply, the £20 cashback from quidco or TCB is not the companies issue, exit fees before end of tariff period applies)
Even if you are on prepay meters EDF are still the cheapest energy supplier for Gas & electricity on PAYGO tariffs, If for some reason you cant or wont go through a cashback site go direct through the company on freephone 0800 056 7777 or if you have to use a mobile use the "overlaid" number 01702927361 being an "01" number it should only come off your inclusive minutes.
Why on earth these days some people are still split with gas from one and electricity from another on cash quarterly accounts beggars belief - DUEL FUEL DIRECT DEBIT WILL SAVE YOU £££'S!!

Did it occur to you that for some people, separate companies does work out cheaper? It is the case for me, so I don't see why I should switch to a more expensive tariffNow free from the incompetence of vodafail0

Also Fixed Price 2014 isn't available any more. It ended a few weeks ago.
It was a good deal though.0 -

I am on the original FP 2014 and although probably not the cheapest I went for what I considered the best fixed for me at the time.
People need to consider various factors, price, possibilty of future price increases, cashback/bonus etc. Do not agree with OP that one fix suits all. Do wish that EDF had been offering £75 bonus with FP2014 at the time, still awaiting cashback from moneysupermarket, probably another month yet.0 -

Yes, it is fixed at a premium above edf's prices after the recent price rise. They would hardly be fixing at the old prices, otherwise why would they bother announcing the price rise at all?
Not an anti edf post, I am on edf FP 2014 myself and am very happy with it, but for customers switching now edf PP 2014 is far from the most competitive fixed tariff.0 -
EDF may be cheap can be more hassle than the few pence they save you! I for one wouldn't go back to them. Long call waiting times, poor customer service and on prepayment money dropping off everywhere and being told its not even though I was watching it as I loaded new credit!0
