Please help meeeeee

Back in June, I placed an order for a 'Piggin' ornament on an internet website. I paid for the item by debit card and the site took the £20 out of my account on 30th June. I got a phone call, from the man who owns the company a few days later, saying they no longer had that particular item but said I could pick a different one. As it was a birthday present, it was definitely that one that I wanted so I called the man back the next day to tell him and ask if I could get my money back. He was really nice about it and said 'of course you can have your money back'. And now, nearly 4 months later & 4 phone calls later, I still haven't had my £20 refund. What do I do now??? Thanks in advance for your help.

OP, was your debit card a Visa or Mastercard?

If so, try their chargeback scheme.

There is some information at the bottom of MSE's Section 75 Refunds article.

But you may already be to late... it says there is a time limit for claims of 120 days.
I wouldn't let that stop you trying though. ;)

The 120 days is from when you become aware there is a problem, which was probably not for at least 30 days after the payment was made, therefore sometime in July. You should therefore still be within the time limit for a chargeback.
