At renewal, call your insurance company, (whether you're happy with the quote or not) use a comparison site, and tell them you have had a cheaper quote for equivallent cover, then give them the cheaper quotes as figures in pounds and pence. They can then look into getting you a reduction.
If you have been with the company for more than a year I can guarantee you have an excellent chance of getting a fairly large reduction.
Premiums are bumped up for loyal customers on the quiet by insurers (I worked for 2 of the larger companies) and unless you say anything, they will take your money all day long. Even if they try to price match, you can still usually get them to take an extra (was up to £30 for both companies) amount off if you really haggle and have been loyal.
The computer systems automatically update the premium figures, so there is definitely money to be saved for those who are aware of how this works.
Also check your annual mileage. If you're not doing 10,000 miles a year then dont put that you are! It can make a massive difference to the premium
