Someone I know has just bought one of these from ebay for about £60 for their son and said its great for the price.
I was thinking of getting one for my 8 yr old but I know nothing about computers/laptops. All it would be needed for is paying on odd games such as moshi monsters, googling things for homework, typing up homework on wordpad and then printing it off. Oh, and possibly watching films on ?
Ive seen the minibook and looked at the instructions, it doesnt state the spec anywhere on there or on the box so I cant give you any more info than what I already have.
Any advice would be appreciated.
PS, we have a family laptop that can be used for other more complicated things so we dont need it to be all singing and dancing.

I tried the radical approach and put "EPC minibook" into Google. It found this:
http://www.play.com/PC/PCs/4-/9292170/EPC-MiniBook-X-Burst-400MHz-128MB-2GB-7-Linux-Netbook/Product.html#CustomerReviewsTab
It seems to run Linux. That may (or may not) be an issue. It has a 400Mhz CPU which probably will be an issue if you want to play processor-intensive games or to watch high-res video.0 -
Thanks
What about printing things off for their homework? Can I print onto my home printer by plugging into the port at the side? and can I transfer their work onto a memory stick which they can then use on the school computers?0 -
paul - avoid, you'd be far better getting a proper netbook with an Intel Atom processor for £100 or less.0

You can pick one of these up for around £70 inc postage.0
