Cold Callers.

I have a sign on my front door which says No Cold Callers. The only people who ignore it are religious zealots and chuggers trying to sign me up to a direct debit for a charity.
On Monday I had three men standing only inches from my front door when I opened it going on about religion and the same thing today.
Can anyone suggest a polite and legal sign I can put up to stop what I would class as harassment.

Well only way I find what works is just say no thanks and shut the door. I find it rude that people ignore the sign I put up. I have no intention of buying anything at the door or sign up to charity and listen to religion
If I want to give to charity I will do it when I like.0 -
Not really. My friend has a sign 'No flyers, no charities, no religious groups' and it seems to do the trick. It also says 'Santa - use the chimney' but she only adds that bit at Christmas"Growth for growth's sake is the ideology of the cancer cell" - Edward Abbey.0

Perhaps you should point to the sign and ask the person if he/she is illiterate? If the answer is no, you can reply with "What does this say?"0 -
Put a sign up in very large letters with the second word being OFF.:cool:counting down the time I got left.:beer:0

You can't stop it, but a couple of no cold caller signs and a beware of the dog might help.0 -
Maybe the chuggers and religious groups think that "cold callers" refers to people selling at the door and therefore are exempt. Perhaps being a little more explicit about what you mean (like #3's friend) will help.i before e, except when you run a feisty heist on a weird beige foreign neighbour0
