How long does it take to put up a fence?

  • It's his choice if he wants to waste his time but it's also your choice if you do stay at home for him or even let him into your house. Personally if I felt that he was taking too long about it then I wouldn't let him.

our HA fixes our fences too so maybe it's a HA thing?
Tho it does take ages for our HA to do anything.
Wonder if it's the same HA? tho our contractors are paid by the job so they more they do, they more money they get etc, so when they finally come it's usually done quick quickly

I got the old E-7 ripped out & the gas heating installed in my 2 bedroom apartment (NIHE) & it took them a day all in & they started my neigbors below me as well. They removed all waste & even hoovered the place as well. They installed it how I wanted, putting the new gas boiler where the water tank used to be & not on the kitchen wall, which was far more work for them as well.
On the other hand it took them 6 months & many phonecalls to replace my toilet cistern...

There is probably an empty property nearby that he could use if you are not in and TBH that really is not your concern.
HA's have various budgets , some are for void properties (empty) and some are for repairs or improvements plus many more.
They have to budget one year in advance or tenants paying rent would kick up one heck of a stink if they overspent and the rent went up in the middle of the year.
They are also answerable to their tenants as to how they use their budget and how they perform in ALL areas and are independantly inspected every few years and awarded scores and areas requiring improvement are noted.
Take a look at your HA's web site , you should be able to access all this information as to where the money is spent and if you are really concerned then you can join a tenants board.
